It is warm and lightweight with the control necessary for backcountry turns. Garmont specifically designed this boot for today's new generation of lightweight, edged touring skis. The gurus at Garmont told me not to sell this boot strictly as a telly boot. On the other hand, I know a few hard-core telly skiers that use it for most outings and consider it the cat's pajamas.
